Assignment #1 Basic Design
For my Basic Design class at Lane Community College we had an assignment the included the "rule of thirds." According to My Modern Met, the Rule of Thirds is a general guideline for how to create an interesting composition which states that any image—painting, photography, graphic design—should be broken into a grid with two vertical and two horizontal lines, creating nine equally proportioned boxes. The assignment for us was to make a 9x12' collage on a15x20' illustration board. We were to create a collage of something/s about you. The instructor has a bubbly personality and even work on a collage during class time between walking around and advising us. After class I stayed for a short stint of studio time and chatted with her about my collage.
So far I am enjoying this class. It will take me awhile before I am more relaxed and less anxious in any class. PTSD almost had me leaving school before I even left my house this morning. Looking back I am so glad I did not.
